FNTG Hiring Part-Time Field Organizer

FNTG Field Organizer

The Friends of the Northampton Trails and Greenways (FNTG) is seeking a Field Organizer to provide support to the officers and members of the organization. FNTG is a community-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization devoted to improving the expanding rail-trail network in Northampton, Massachusetts. ​ Further information about FNTG can be found at fntg.net.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides oversight of FNTG’s online presence (Facebook, website, and listserv) by uploading fresh content, managing subscriptions, and spreading the word.
  • Maintains and grows the FNTG membership by managing the annual Appeal Letter process, “tabling” at public events, and attending to both new and expired memberships.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with like-minded organizations in the region including representatives of city governments, other rail trail organizations, Chambers of Commerce, etc.
  • Coordinates FNTG’s presence at rail trail events and public hearings and recruits FNTG members to participate in such meetings.
  • Attends meetings  of FNTG Officers (bi-monthly)​​ and Members (once or twice a year) and maintains minutes of ​these ​meetings.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong computer skills including use of spreadsheets, blogs, and content management systems
  • Experience with supporting the social media tools of an established organization
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills

COMPENSATION
This is a non-benefited, contractual position at approximately 10 hours per week at $17/hr. and receives supervision and direction from the President of the FNTG.
